Rock Movies I Love: U2 Rattle and Hum

Aaaah Rattle and Hum. This movie was directed by Phil Joanou and showcased U2 when Bono, The Edge, Adam, and Larry were young and beautiful and ruled the world (for the first time). The film captures U2 as they travelled the U.S. on their Joshua Tree tour with some performances filmed in moody, black and white. U2 also found time to jam with rock dignitaries like B.B. King, prompting some rock critics to accuse the band of portraying themselves prematurely as rock legends. Well, there's no denying that U2 are rock legends now. I view Rattle and Hum as U2's love letter not only to their U.S. fans but to the American rock pioneers like King who obviously inspired them. And it's obvious - at least to me - that this love is reciprocated and continues today.
